It is a popular overnight train from Bangkok around 18:30 clock runs every night in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand. The seats are made of bunk beds and the train arrives in the morning (when it is too late) to Chiang Mai. are at the train station in Chiang Mai is in an "acting" in the city. We stayed in a guest house with beautiful pool for B400 (about $ 13/night for a double room without breakfast). Chiang Mai train station is about 3 km east of the city center, oppositethe Ping River. Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) is the hub of Northern Thailand. With a population of over 170,000 in the city proper (but more than 1 million in the metropolitan area), the fifth largest city in Thailand. The hotel is on one level to a height of 316 m, and the lush landscape of mountains, Chiang Mai is much greener and quieter than Bangkok and has a cosmopolitan flair and a significant population of expatriates, many factors that have brought from Bangkok to resolvepermanently in this "Rose of the North". Obvisiously there are other means to travel from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, such as aircraft, but I recommend the night train. You might sometimes the noise at night (the train track is very irregular, then the train shake a lot!) It is not fast, but for me that is part of the fun. And the bed was more comfortable than I expected! In Chiang Mai there are so many activities you can do, like visiting the Elephant Nature Park andX-center, but I will start ...
